THE INSTITUT CATALÀ DEL PEU TAKES PART IN THE COURSE OF LEVEL II TENNIS NATIONAL TRAINER WHICH ORGANIZES THE CATALAN TENNIS FEDERATION.
A few weeks ago, the Biomechanical Department of the Institut Català del Peu gave a presentation about biomechanics in tennis in the course of level II tennis national trainer which organizes the Catalan Tennis Federation.
The Institut Català del Peu, has developed with the support of the Catalan Tennis Federation, the practical application of new technologies of movement analysis with the Vicon 3D photogrammetry system in tennis. This tool allows to measure the movement of the tennis player and to be analyzed from 3600 with different parameters which are measured like trajectories, speeds, accelerations, angles, etc. This is known as biomechanical analysis of the technical gesture in tennis.
The Catalan Tennis Federation supported the initiative of this biomechanical analysis of the tennis player and it has developed overall the way of observing the technique allowing the trainer to detect mistakes immediately.
This analysis has been given to the course of level II tennis national trainer which organizes the Catalan Tennis Federation to demonstrate to future trainers how new technologies are a support to the analysis of the technique to the tennis player. By the other hand, the knowledge generated about this analysis, are part of the theory of the course, within the biomechanical fundamentals in tennis, which besides, will be published soon in a book as a Project of the Federation for future trainers. The course was very Dynamic, with interventions of the trainers in order to learn about this technology, the possibilities it offers them to go on with the improvements of their tennis players, as well as the exchange of knowledge to continue to grow in a multidisciplinary field as it was created on this day.
